Description
MW (European) clients are professional investors (open-end funds/Reits), interested in the acquisition of secured commercial investment-properties. The company is also currently exclusively involved in a mixed-use (incl. 950 hotel rooms) high-rise building in Miami, FL and a 2,000-acre beachfront resort project in the Dominican Republic.
Mr. Welfonder has been involved in the European and international real estate markets for over 25 years. After studying law, he went to work for a large trustee company in Frankfurt and then to Lehndorff in Munich as an international real estate investor. Mr. Welfonder was responsible for acquisitions totaling approximately $750 million over a 7 year period.
In the late 1980’s, he went to work for a leading German development and investment company in Munich, as CEO for several operating subsidiaries, including being the first CEO of one of Germany’s earliest Public Private Partnerships (PPP).
He was responsible for over $800 million in investments and developments (mainly office buildings, hotels, commercial parks), including the development of Munich’s highest building - the “Twin Towers”.
Mr. Welfonder also served for two years as President of the International Real Estate Institute, which has a consultative status with the United Nations.
